Responsibilities:

ANTICIPATED POSITION
Under the general direction of the Director of Technical Services, the Systems Analyst is responsible for the origination, ongoing maintenance, and customer support experience for systems and services provided by the university. This position is responsible for the communication, organization, implementation, and execution of solutions to meet business requirements and university expectations including support of the Customer Relationship Management, marketing and enrollment management processes. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills that are regularly exercised to communicate the vision of solutions to the appropriate university constituencies. Hands on experience in a range of technical disciplines, with familiarity of industry standards and best practices are expected of this role. This role requires an individual who can communicate and present an original idea or approach, as well as be the implementer of that idea or approach for university use.
 
TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  General direction from the Directorof Technical Services.  While incumbent will provide information and make decisions, incumbent will conduct business using reflected authority following established policies and procedures.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 Essential functions:  100% of time
  • Provide high quality support to university customers. Work with teams and team members to provide our customers an excellent experience.
  • High aptitude for learning new technologies and strong critical thinking skills that will help to determine how these new technologies should be applied.
  • Develop solutions and strategy plans that are well documented and communicated, and be able to execute them once approved.
  • Spearhead and lead the implementation of new technology plans.
  • Understand and document budgetary requirements, solution methodologies, and common practices.
  • Maintains and automates as much as possible the administration of systems and services.
  • Install, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  • Provide documentation, training resources and trainings for internal and external audiences.
  • Documents resolutions and updates the knowledge base and service requests to improve services offered.
  • Follows standard departmental procedures and the instructions provided by supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Special Conditions of Employment:  Must be willing to travel as required. Brandman University manages several campus locations including, but not limited to, locations across California and Washington. Applicants must be available to work after normal working hours on occasion, including weekends and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required.

Previous Experience: 
Required: 
  • Ability to oversee complex projects to completion, and remain involved as required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of systems and services in a higher educational setting.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment to carry out duties in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, and advanced written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse campus environment.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of, including proven experience, in managing systems and services, applications and computing hardware.
  • Skill in troubleshooting systems and services in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with proven organizational skills.
  • Ability to make travel and lodging arrangements.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT related field.
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in an IT related field.
  • Technical Certifications (Examples: MCITP, A+, CISCO CCNA, NETWORK+)
  • Prior experience providing support in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft technologies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computing or related field.
