Responsibilities:

The Graphic Designer position in the Marketing Department assists in maintaining and creating a consistent visual presentation for Brandman University.  Projects and marketing tools/mediums that the Graphic Designer would work on but not limited to, include the following;  trade show program ads, postcards, posters, pull up banners, invitations, email template designs, and other collateral material that will be used as a sales tool for the Outreach Team.  The Graphic Designer will exercise his/her creative skills and knowledge of design principles and software to develop original ideas, layouts that reflect the overall style and brand identity of the organization as well as key messaging of call to action. This person may be called upon to handle any and all phases of projects, from concept through final delivery – working extensively with on-campus personnel, external advertising agency and printers.  The Graphic Designer must be able to pay close attention to detail, edit copy as deemed necessary, and be organized.
 
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Essential functions:  100% of time
 
  • Develop various internal marketing and communication materials/collateral such as print ads, direct mail, digital elements including e-mail templates, web banners, posters, postcards, direct mail, brochures, etc… 
  • Work with marketing’s email specialist, website team
  • Work with external ad agency to ensure proper brand standards across all marketing and communication platforms.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, i.e., Outreach Directors, CCRs, MVRs, Campus Directors in creating acquisition tools to capture potential students
    Identify and implement all visual elements of a project, including illustrations, photography, and font styles to produce effective communication pieces that help Brandman advertise programs and degrees
  • Consult with necessary marketing team members and Outreach team members to properly produce materials needed for Ed fairs, events, seminars, convention trade shows, etc…
  • Review all creative materials to ensure they meet company standards
  • Proof read and edit all materials
  • Build creative files to the proper specifications necessary for printing or distribution
  • Ensure creative deadlines are met by working effectively under pressure and in a fast paced environment while maintaining brand equity and proper execution of said marketing materials
Qualifications:

Previous Experience: 
• Advertising Agency – Direct Response, Brand Development
• In-house client experience
• Experiencing working in higher education a plus

Required: 
  • 3+ years of related graphic and web design experience.
  • Agency experienced preferred but not required
Desired Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
• Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Ability to effectively make decisions with limited time and information – can determine decision making criteria based on priorities
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Knowledge and Education:
• Bachelors degree, preferably in graphic design, visual arts or advertising
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledgeable in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, Flash), HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Illustrator, Final Cut, Premier Pro, After Facts
